Chengyan is a frequent creative and technical collaborator in theatre, music and dance spaces based in the unceded and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations known as Vancouver, and is delighted to be joining Dance//Novella in presenting When the Walls Come Down. He was immersed in the world of bringing dance to stage at the Dance Centre from 2017 to 2022 and has previously performed lighting or stage management roles with companies such as Tomoe Arts, The Falling Company (formerly TWObigsteps), All Bodies Dance, Aeriosa Dance, Dumb Instrument Dance and Restless Productions.
