DIGITAL RELEASE SERIES
ABOUT
A collection of short works created for the screen, the Digital Release Series expands Dance//Novella’s practice into film and digital space.
Each piece emerges from a shared investigation into the conditions of our time, holding questions of pressure, connection, isolation, and collective action. These works do not seek resolution, but rather offer presence: a way of witnessing, processing, and moving through complexity together.
At their core, they are built through deep collaboration where movement, sound, image, and environment meet to create something immediate, responsive, and alive.
AFTERIMAGE
We began in a room.
A conversation.
A shared weight.
What stayed was the feeling.
A mutual resistance.
Afterimage is an artistic response to what is happening in the United States around immigration enforcement and the cyclical fear, loss, and instability many people are experiencing. What emerged was a focus on collective kinetic action, where shared energy and body heat shape the environment as a form of resistance.
Creative collaborators: Yuha Tomita, Jada Tang, Brandon Lee Alley, Racheal Prince, Daniel Loan and Victoria Bell.
