So to Speak
Moving between fractured realities and facets of the self, the work explores the strange dualities contained within a single being, our capacity to soothe and catastrophize, to protect and provoke, to witness ourselves while simultaneously becoming undone. Memories, objects, and gestures return in altered forms, accumulating meaning as different versions of the self surface, collide, and recede.

Following a successful residency at Dance Victoria last season, So to Speak enters its next phase of development this September with dance artist and theatre maker Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg joining the creative team. Through Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, the work will continue to evolve through movement, text, original sound design by Brandon Lee Alley, and the development of its set, props, and visual world, culminating in its premiere at The Annex Theatre on June 18 & 19, 2027.
